A day after a woman was killed by debris and several houses were damaged due to heavy rains in Dharchula area of Pithoragarh district, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Ranthi village ( Khotila) affected by the disaster and interacted with the locals. Interacting with the villagers affected by the disaster, Dhami sought information about their problems and assured them of all possible assistance. He said appropriate accommodation, food and clothing arrangements should be made for the disaster affected, which will be paid for by the government. The CM also presented relief amount by check to six affected families, including Rs four lakh to the family of the woman killed in the disaster. The authorities are working to provide the amount of aid to the families still affected soon.
Dhami also inspected embankments along the Kali River in Dharchula. He ordered Pithoragarh District Magistrate Ashish Chauhan to ensure that all possible measures to assist those affected are taken promptly. The government is ready to take all possible measures for the rehabilitation of the disaster affected, he said. MP Ajay Tamta, MPs Harish Dhami, Bishan Singh Chufal, local public representatives and civil servants were also present along with the CM.
