P&G Continues Hand Hygiene Promotion Efforts with the Philippine Red Cross

[Manila, Philippines]: Procter & Gamble (P&G) Philippines, whose portfolio has been trusted over the years for its premium healthcare, home care, beauty and grooming products, continues to be a force for good by helping championing the country’s health with its latest partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).

With the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, P&G and PRC have distributed COVID-19 care kits containing Safeguard body wash, Safeguard liquid foaming hand soap and P&G medical grade face masks to 5,000 beneficiaries of different hospitals, medical centers, isolation facilities, and most-at-risk populations in priority areas of the country. Together, they aim to continue advocating for good hygiene and providing access to sanitation products and washing-friendly environments.

“We are grateful to the Philippine Red Cross for their unwavering commitment to ensuring safe and healthy communities. We hope our extended support can help protect the most vulnerable and help the country recover fully from COVID-19,” said Anna Legarda-Locsin, director of communications for P&G Philippines.

A force for good

P&G’s partnership with PRC is part of its mission to continue to serve and improve the lives of consumers who matter and trust their products to protect their homes and everyday lives. Since the start of the pandemic, P&G has helped provide home comforts, health and hygiene through its donation of locally produced medical-grade face masks, hygiene products, personal protective equipment ( PPE) and handwashing facilities to medical institutions and organizations. .

Earlier this year, P&G also helped PRC vaccinate more than 52,000 vulnerable people in Region IV-A through PRC’s Bakuna Bus project. P&G has also partnered with Robinsons Supermarket and PRC for the “Victory Over Virus” donation program which will vaccinate more than 2,000 elderly people in rural areas of Region IV-A in August.

P&G was also the largest private partner of the Ministry of Health in the national education campaign “BIDA Solusyon sa COVID-19” launched with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for better health habits.

For its staff, the company launched the Alagang P&G program where employees received Alaga and health defense kits containing hygiene and healthcare essentials to help protect against COVID-19 in plus other employee health and wellness programs.
