Porsche donates 500,000 euros to the German Red Cross Sports car maker supports flood relief efforts in Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria

Stuttgart. Porsche AG supports the German Red Cross flood relief efforts with a donation of 500,000 euros. The money is intended for work in areas affected by flooding in Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria. Partner organizations of the Belgian Red Cross, Rode Kruis and the Austrian Red Cross have been active there since the floods of June 2021. The donation will focus on promoting reconstruction in these regions. These last months, Porsche AG, with its subsidiaries Porsche Deutschland GmbH and MHP, has already donated a total of 1.8 million euros in emergency aid to the Aktion Deutschland hilft eV alliance to mitigate the consequences of catastrophic flooding.

The Belgian Red Cross, the Rode Kruis and the Austrian Red Cross plan to support reconstruction with very different measures. In addition, these organizations are equipping themselves to be able to provide even more effective emergency aid in the event of future disasters.

The Belgian Red Cross, for example, has identified a need for two million euros for the reconstruction of schools and universities alone. It’s here that Porschethe donation of must be used. The Austrian Red Cross also uses the Porsche donation for long term help. Among other things, mobile flood barricades must be purchased. Large modular drones are also needed to better understand the overall situation and provide even more targeted support to the operations team. In addition, additional mobile and heated tents are needed, especially for first aid.
