Red Cross helps 6 people affected by multi-unit fire in Miami

Late last night, local volunteer members of the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team, Greater Miami and Keys Chapter, responded to a multi-unit fire on SW 155e To research,. The trained disaster team helped coordinate emergency assistance to six (6) people affected by the fire.

The Red Cross is providing emergency financial assistance, health and mental health services, individual support to connect people to available recovery assistance and will continue to provide additional support to families to meet their needs caused by disaster.

The Disaster Action Team is a group of specially trained local Red Cross volunteer responders who are ready to respond to these emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Disaster Action Team volunteers also provide emotional support and information to help families begin the recovery process. Red Cross disaster assistance is free, a donation made possible by donations to the Red Cross.

Red Cross volunteers have been trained to follow proper safety procedures and protocols to continue serving communities affected by local disasters, during the coronavirus outbreak.

Families in our community, across the country and around the world, turn to the Red Cross for help every day because #EmergenciesDontStop.
